Photo Wraps!

Isn't this a great look? This is our contemporary decor made with Photo Wraps. After your photo session, PhotoWraps are one of the many products you can choose for displaying your portraits.

Photo Wraps stand out from the wall about 3/4 of an inch. The Photo is laminated and then mounted on a padded surface. Then then are finished off with dust paper and a 3/4 inch foam block. They are gorgeous, well constructed and, frankly I think they are a novel approach to decorating with photos.

Here is one display. You can set these up in a variety of ways to fit your space and wall layout preferences.

For this one, we separated the image that was a little different on a perpendicular wall. The image is related, but not a part of the main cluster.

You can also just purchase one wall portrait Photo Wrap for a great look.

Don't put off an opportunity to capture your family as they are today. They change so quickly!

Call us to schedule your portrait session.

Wear-able Beauty

Here is a great young lady whom I met in a rather quotidian way:

I thought she was really special each time I would come across her.

The stunning, soft, and ethereal make-up she wears: literally wearable art.

Eventually I started to tell her how much I admired her make-up.

From there I got the opportunity to be her photographer. Now I feel like we are friends.

This often happens at my sweet studio in Drexel Hill: We start out making photographs and come away with the privelege of getting to know another beautiful soul.

In this case, I was truly the winner. It was great to meet you, Bryce!

A Portrait of my Dad

When was the last time your FATHER had a portrait done?
Not those head shots they print in the business publications, but a grand portrait.

This man is a civil war reenactor, so he wore his uniform. He and his family now have incredible portraits to remember and celebrate their dear old Dad.

This man wore his Scottish formals...

Of course you don't have to wear a costume or a suit to have a portrait made. You can come as you are!

It is not too late to get a gift certificate for your dad.
Just Give us a call!

Why My Mom Is Such a Great Mom

Barb was the toughest, nice person I ever met. Man, she told you what was on her mind, no holds barred. It was often not pleasant. Psychologists would have graded her low, as did we kids along the way. We frequently had a maternal gripe. But looking back and searching for my own "mom" answers, I never have a problem thinking about what MY MOM would have to say regarding just about any given situation. So I reference back, often being able to site the exact phrase, tone and opinion she might have had.

Security.

Not that she was always right, it is just that she told you where SHE stood on a topic. What a life store of convenient advice! In the end, while growing up in my house was not a tiptoe through the tulips, we all really turned out well, functional, and each one of us an individual.

"I HAVE RAISED six only children!" she would complain. Well, she did see us all as individuals and she did have an assortment of expectations based on who you were, etc. But as the day ends, she expected us all to do our best. Mom was tough, fair, and strong as a mighty fortress, and all was motivated by love.

There is so much more, I must save it for another blog! She had many talents, skills, and unique views on life!

I almost titled this "My Mom was such a great Mom", but her mothering was so effective that it truly lives on. She is. Here's to hoping I do the same!

Why is your mom unique and special? Please comment.

Quotidial Pursuits: Ode to Lip Balm

Have you thanked your lip balm today?

This AM, I was thinking how grateful I am to any old tube of lip relief. Ahh, the parched winter lips are a perennial annoyance! So let us stop, however briefly, and pay homage.
This one, above is good and more like a lip gloss, so you get a little fashion while you are at it. It comes from Bath & Body Works and you can get a little tint with it, or, not. Kind of pricy, $7.00, but you do get a hit of mint in each mouth breath you take.

Carmex is actually the best, don't you think? I was lead to this by my
sister in NY, Barbie, who is forever more practical than me. She is right, as usual, and my kids go bonkers for this one. I think that you ge a nice shine here, at no extra cost and it costs only about $2-3 dollars. They have a few higher end products now, I just noted, when I added the link.

To me this may be the original, even the "classic" as it says on the label, but this is the "kiss" of death for lip balm. My son likes this. When he comes home from college, it is always laying in the bottom of the dryer. At that point it is empty and I wonder to what clothing the chap stick stuck. In its defense, it never seems to ruin the clothing it washes with. I heard once that this is actually really bad for your lips. I only use this in a desperate moment.

Found this one in a card store one day last year and I love it. It is almost all gone, but you cannot tell by this angle.

It is like a mini Yankee Candle...I fell for the gimmick, what can I say?

Well, this has nothing to do with photography, or my job. I threw a few lame product shots in for you to make it interesting.

So let's take a poll: What is your favorite lip balm?
