Quotidial Pursuits: Ode to Lip Balm

Have you thanked your lip balm today?

This AM, I was thinking how grateful I am to any old tube of lip relief. Ahh, the parched winter lips are a perennial annoyance! So let us stop, however briefly, and pay homage.
This one, above is good and more like a lip gloss, so you get a little fashion while you are at it. It comes from Bath & Body Works and you can get a little tint with it, or, not. Kind of pricy, $7.00, but you do get a hit of mint in each mouth breath you take.

Carmex is actually the best, don't you think? I was lead to this by my
sister in NY, Barbie, who is forever more practical than me. She is right, as usual, and my kids go bonkers for this one. I think that you ge a nice shine here, at no extra cost and it costs only about $2-3 dollars. They have a few higher end products now, I just noted, when I added the link.

To me this may be the original, even the "classic" as it says on the label, but this is the "kiss" of death for lip balm. My son likes this. When he comes home from college, it is always laying in the bottom of the dryer. At that point it is empty and I wonder to what clothing the chap stick stuck. In its defense, it never seems to ruin the clothing it washes with. I heard once that this is actually really bad for your lips. I only use this in a desperate moment.

Found this one in a card store one day last year and I love it. It is almost all gone, but you cannot tell by this angle.

It is like a mini Yankee Candle...I fell for the gimmick, what can I say?

Well, this has nothing to do with photography, or my job. I threw a few lame product shots in for you to make it interesting.

So let's take a poll: What is your favorite lip balm?

Looking Back; Looking Ahead: Reflections

Each day at my little boutique studio is new. Today I had a little sweety come by. She wore an adorable sparkley skirt, black boots, hair all shiny! Here are a few examples of what we created.

As you can see we changed clothing, and made adjustments as we went along.

Each session is organic at my studio. You come in, we do what you are thinking, and often we start to move in another direction and Viola!

She looks forward, she looks backward. She is growing.
I love my job!

What do you think?

Actors/ Models Head Shots

Yes, we do Headshots!

Please enjoy a few headshots I have done in the past year. These images work for actors, models and executive portraits for industry work, websites, and industry publications! We can provide you with short sessions and many people opt to leave with a disc rather than prints of their favorite shots. We can also create sessions with multiple outfit/ Background changes.

We can produce your headshots with resumes on the back of them. We also do complete comp cards. This can be full service or shoot and disc burn. You name it!

Call for pricing and schedules. Either way, we deliver!

New Products! Luminous Boox!

What awesome keepsakes!

This is our newest product! It is the accordion book by Luminous Boox (pronounced "Books"). These were the actual prize books from our "Sharpest Couple" contest. What a nice keepsake they are. They are 5 x8" and have 11 total folds. They come in pearl, shiny, smooth with gloss, and my favorite, metalic paper finishes. They are handcrafted to perfection and hold shut by magnets. They even come with a nice, durable, plastic sheath to protect the book while in your purse or backpack. They can be stylized for most any type of shoot.
The mini accordion book sample was made for a Sweet 16 favorite of mine. It was a random crash of her party and 10 mins to take these pix, but it gives you an idea of what we have available. These are free, for a limited time, at Luminous 5's studio with a purchase of a framed wall portrait.

I love my job, I love creating beautiful portraits for your fammily or your board room. Give us a chance to capture your family, wedding or website photos which immortalize the real you!
